Manipur: Unidentified male body found in Imphal East, police seek public help

Imphal: A dead male body, aged around 35–40 years, was found on the riverbanks near Minuthong Bridge on the eastern side of Manipur's Imphal East district on Friday, officials said on Saturday.

A team from the Imphal East District Police Station, upon receiving the information, recovered the body in the presence of the Mobile Forensic Unit, Imphal East, and an Executive Magistrate.

The Officer-in-Charge of Porompat Police Station, in a statement issued on Saturday, said the body has been deposited at the mortuary of JNIMS Hospital, Imphal, for identification and necessary investigation.

The deceased is 5'6" tall, of medium build, has an elongated face, swarthy complexion, and short black hair.

He was wearing olive green pants and a black shirt, and his body bore several tattoos.

The police have requested the public’s cooperation in identifying the body and have set December 15 as the deadline for disposal if no one claims it.
