Manipur: Two including minor held in Imphal Airport with ganja and gold

Imphal: The Imphal Customs officials and Central Industrial Security Forces apprehended two passengers at the Imphal Airport in Manipur with 4.66 kg of suspected Ganja and 478.81gm of gold ornaments.

The detained persons include a minor and a woman.

The CISF personnel while scanning the passengers' items of luggage detected two suspicious packets covered with black-coloured polythene bags.

Upon further checking, 4.66 kg of ganja was recovered from a 17-year-old minor.

The 17-year-old minor was a resident of Imphal West district.

He handed over to the Singjamei police station for further legal proceedings.

The CISF personnel further scannings recovered 478.81gm of gold ornaments (undocumented) from a woman.

The woman was a resident of Imphal East district, officials said.

She was scheduled to board an Alliance Air flight (9i708) to Tezu but failed to provide any valid documentation regarding the gold.

The reports stated that the woman along with the seized items were handed over to the Customs Division, Imphal for legal action.
