Manipur: Three suspected militants airlifted to Delhi for NIA investigation
Guwahati: Three suspected militants, including two teenagers, were airlifted from Imphal, Manipur to New Delhi for investigation by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday night.
A joint operation by Manipur Police and CRPF forces, based on NIA intelligence, led to the arrest of the suspects in L Hengjol village.
The arrested individuals were identified as Thangjoel Haokip (19), Jangjoulen Khongsai (19), and Jangminlun Singson (45).

They are suspected of involvement in various criminal activities, including an attack on a power grid using explosives in April 2024.
Following the arrests, protests erupted in Kangpokpi district, with demands for the immediate release of the men and the return of seized weapons.

The Kuki Inpi, a prominent Kuki organization, further called for a 12-hour shutdown in Kuki-dominated areas to protest the action.
