Manipur: Three KCP militants arrested with arms and ammunition in Thoubal

Imphal: In a significant operation, three active cadres of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP-Apunba City Meitei) were arrested in Thoubal district of Manipur, along with a cache of arms and ammunition.

The individuals were involved in extensive extortion activities in the southern regions of Manipur over the past few weeks.

The operation was carried out by a joint team of Manipur police commandos (CDOs) and troopers of Assam Rifles.

The arrested cadres have been identified as: Louriyam Suresh Singh (28) from Imphal East district, Lairenlakpam Dineshchandra Singh (30) from Thoubal district and Konsam Anao Singh (26) from Imphal West district of Manipur.

During the arrest, authorities recovered:

The arrested individuals and the seized items have been handed over to Lilong police station in Manipur.

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the law, as confirmed by the reports.
