Manipur: Security forces uncover more hidden arms & ammo cache

Imphal: A team of central and state forces have discovered concealed caches of arms, ammunition, and warlike stores in two districts of Manipur within the past 24 hours.

Acting on intelligence inputs, the police launched an operation in the Leimaram area of Bishnupur district, targeting cadres of the proscribed KCP (PWG) who had fled from the Koutruk area.

Although the alleged militants escaped, the operation yielded a substantial recovery of weapons.

The recovered weapons included one SLR with two live rounds, one 303 Rifle, seven hand grenades, and other explosive materials.

Simultaneously, a joint team of central and state police conducted a massive operation in Ekou Mulam, Kangpokpi district, resulting in the seizure of a Bolt Action Rifle, an Improvised Projectile launcher, eight live ammunition rounds, an Improvised Mortar, and other explosive materials.

Further investigation regarding the recovery is being carried out by the police.
