Manipur: Security forces seize large cache of weapons in Churachandpur
Imphal: Security forces in Manipur conducted a series of successful raids on Monday, seizing a significant cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives from three hideouts located in Churachandpur district.
Acting on specific intelligence, a joint team comprised of Assam Rifles and Manipur Police personnel launched operations in L Cananphai village.
The raid yielded a Carbine Machine Gun (CMG), a .303 rifle with a magazine, three single-barrel rifles, a 9mm pistol, two improvised mortars, and various war supplies.
Further operations in Mongjang village resulted in the recovery of two heavy improvised mortars (pump action), while a third improvised pumpi gun was retrieved from Chullouphai village.
Police are yet to make any arrests in connection with these raids.
However, all seized items have been handed over to the relevant police station for further investigation and legal proceedings.
