Manipur: Rs 1.5 lakh looted from oil pump in daylight robbery
Imphal: In a brazen act, a group of armed men looted Rs 1.5 lakh from an oil pump in Manipur's southern region on Saturday.
The incident occurred around 4 pm at M/S Yumnam & Son Oil Pump located at Sekmaijin Hangoon, Imphal West, under the jurisdiction of Mayang Imphal police. The oil pump's proprietor, Y Ingobi, filed a complaint detailing the events.
According to the complaint, roughly 15 unidentified individuals arrived in three SUVs and launched a sudden attack.
They threatened staff at gunpoint, vandalized CCTV cameras and removed their hard drives, shattered the office's glass panes, and destroyed the on-site POS machine.
Ingobi was away at the time of the incident. The staff reported that when they questioned the attackers' motives, they were threatened with violence.
In his complaint, Ingobi urged the public's cooperation in apprehending the perpetrators.
Police are currently investigating the incident and searching for the culprits.
