Manipur police and Assam Rifles rescue four abducted men in Thoubal district
Imphal: Four abducted men were rescued in a joint operation by the Manipur Police Commandos and the Assam Rifles in Manipur's Thoubal district on Friday, according to a statement released by a defence spokesperson on Saturday.
Acting on credible intelligence about the abduction of four individuals aged 25 to 35 from Nambol village in Bishnupur district, a team from the Yaripok Police Station and the Assam Rifles established a surveillance point in Thoubal to intercept the abductors.
The joint team reached the designated location and intercepted the suspected vehicles. The kidnappers, upon being intercepted, fled the scene, abandoning the victims who were all safely rescued.
The rescued men have been handed over to the police, who are currently investigating the motive behind the abduction.
