Manipur: One more arrested for assaulting two Naga youths in Imphal
Imphal: Manipur Police arrested another suspect in the ongoing operation against the assault case of two Poumai Naga tribesmen from the Senapati district.
Police intensified their operations to arrest the culprits involved in the crime following several voluntary outfits including the powerful United Naga Council have demanded early justice in the case.
Imphal West district police apprehended an Arambai Tenggol (AT) activist, a radical organisation, founded by Manipur's titular king and Rajya Sabha member Leishemba Sanajaoba, who also remains its chairman.

The AT member namely Khullem Sanjeep alias Bhim,30), was arrested for his alleged involvement in the assault case of two Naga tribesmen from the Senapati district.
Khullem Sanjeep was arrested from his residence at Naoremthong DC road in Imphal West district on Sunday, police said.

He is reportedly involved in the assault case of two persons namely V Hrangao Blesson Poumai, and Dalou Poumai, both residents of the Senapati district at Lamsang area in Imphal West district on October 31, 2024. He was remanded into police custody for interrogation.
With this, two persons including a cadre of an insurgent group were arrested.
Police had earlier nabbed one cadre of the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP), Senjam Suraj Meitei (25), on October 31 in the Lamsang area of the same district.
Further investigation is being carried out by the police.
