The incident occurred on Tuesday (November 5), when a 23-year-old driver, Joshua Kamei, from Kambiron (Puiluan) village, was taken away near the Kheikhu Kabui Khul Gate in Imphal East.

According to RNSOM, Joshua Kamei was subsequently taken to their camp, where he was subjected to severe torture and aggressive interrogation.

Following the incident, RNSOM issued a list of demands urging authorities to take immediate and decisive action.

They demand immediate cessation of alleged violent activities by extremists and investigation and justice for Kamei.

RNSOM has also reiterated its stance of zero tolerance for violence and a commitment to pursuing justice.

The organization has appealed for solidarity within the community to resist and stand against such acts of violence and extortion, warning authorities to address the surge in violence to prevent severe consequences.
