Manipur: KYKL cadre nabbed along Indo-Myanmar border
Imphal: A suspected cadre of the proscribed Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) was apprehended by the Assam Rifles along with currency notes of India and Myanmar in an operation along the Manipur-Myanmar border in Tengnoupal district, an official statement said on Thursday.
Based on specific intelligence regarding the presence of a cadre, in Yangoupokpi Village, Tengnoupal District, Manipur bordering Myanmar on the south, a search operation was launched by Assam Rifles on Wednesday.
During the operation, an individual was spotted moving suspiciously in the jungle foliage along the borders.
The team closed swiftly and cut off the escape routes, leading to his apprehension of the KYKL cadre.
The Indian security team recovered currency notes (Indian and Myanmarese), incriminating documents, and ammunition from his possession, the statement stated. However, it didn't mention the name of the nabbed cadre of the outfit.
The nabbed cadre was blinded folded and paraded before the local photographers in the presence of the security personnel. He along with recovered items was handed over to the concerned Police Station for further investigations, the statement added.
