Manipur: KYKL cadre involved in extortion case arrested in Bishnupur
Guwahati: A suspected cadre of the proscribed Kanglei Yaol Kanna Lup (KYKL) who was involved in various extortion cases in the southern Bishnupur district of Manipur was arrested.
Acting on specific intelligence inputs regarding extortion activities carried out by cadres of the banned KYKL near the Ningthoukhong bazaar in Bishnupur district, a joint operation was launched by Assam Rifles and Manipur Police on Sunday morning.

The search resulted in the apprehension of a KYKL cadre identified as Asem Netaji Singh alias Neta, 40.
From him, the team recovered several items including one complete set of Computers and, one mobile phone.

He was involved in various extortion cases from the general public, government employees, and business establishments in the past few months, the report said.
The apprehended individuals and recovered items have been handed over to the Police, the report added.
