Imphal: A joint search operation in the vulnerable areas of Loktak Lake in Manipur's Bishnupur district led to the recovery of a substantial cache of weapons, including arms, explosives, various types of ammunition, and radio sets, disrupting militant and anti-social activities on Thursday morning.

Officials reported on Friday that the joint team, comprising the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and Manipur Police, conducted operations east of Phubala Village near Loktak Lake under the Moirang police station, Bishnupur district.

The operations, which lasted around three hours, concluded with the dismantling of an insurgent's temporary camp and the recovery of several weapons.

The recovered items included a 9 mm CMG Carbine along with a magazine, a 9 mm pistol along with a magazine, a .32 mm pistol along with a magazine, five rifle grenades, two Lathod bombs, five 12-bore cartridges, ten 9 mm live rounds, a T-Eagle sniper scope, and a radio set.

The reports added that the seized items were later transferred to the Moirang police station for further legal action.
