The Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, highlighted the various initiatives undertaken by the government to resolve the ongoing impasse and to move the state forward in the years to come.

Imphal: The seventh session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly was held on February 05, 2026. The Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, addressed the inaugural session of the sitting.

He appreciated the people of the state for their resilience, patience, and steadfast commitment to peace, and said that the path ahead calls for understanding, cooperation, and the collective support of all to restore harmony and advance shared prosperity.

He highlighted the various initiatives undertaken by the government to resolve the ongoing impasse and to move the state forward in the years to come.

The Governor concluded his speech by stating that he looks forward to the wholehearted support and cooperation of the august House in ensuring a productive and constructive year ahead.

He further expressed confidence that the New Year will renew the collective resolve to uphold and strengthen the state’s age-old traditions of coexistence, unity, and harmony, laying a firm foundation for a peaceful and prosperous Manipur.

Later, Minister Govindas Konthoujam moved the motion of thanks to the Governor’s address, which was seconded by the Deputy Chief Minister, Losii Dikho. Thereafter, the Report of the Business Advisory Committee, 2026, was tabled on the floor of the House.

The Chief Minister and Leader of the House, Y. Khemchand Singh, moved the Motion of Confidence. This motion, which was later passed, saw participation from the Leader of the Opposition, Okram Ibobi, and MLAs K. Ranjit, Kh. Meghachandra, Th. Lokeshore, and Surjakumar Okram.

The sitting of the 7th session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly was adjourned sine die by the Speaker, Th. Satyabrata Singh.
