Manipur: Five suspected KCP-N cadres nabbed in Kakching
Imphal: A joint team of the central and state forces foiled kidnapping and extortion attempts by arresting five suspected cadres of the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party - Nongdrenkhomba (KCP-N) in Manipur.
Two pistols and a vehicle were recovered from them, the police said on Monday.
Based on the information provided by intelligence sources, a joint team of the Kakching district police and Assam Rifles launched an operation at a place at Kakching Khunou and the arrests and seizures were made on Sunday.

The arrested cadres of KCP (Nongdrenkhomba) were later identified as Soibam Lanchanba Meitei (25), Soibam Manoj Singh (27), Heisnam Dipak Meitei (39), Nameirakpam Nelson Singh (20) and Nongthombam Leishemba (23), the police said.

Along with them, the police also seized two pistols, with one magazine each loaded with 05 (five) live rounds, three mobile phones, three three camouflage outfits and one vehicle without number plates.
The arrested persons, seized items and the impounded vehicle are now in the custody of the police.
A case has been registered for further investigation, the police added.
