A total of 78 foreigners, including 51 women, 5 minors, and 22 men detained at the Imphal foreigner detention center, are set to be deported.

On the first day, seven Myanmar nationals were transported by helicopter from Imphal International Airport to Moreh, a Manipur-Myanmar border town, where they were handed over to Myanmar authorities at the Indo-Myanmar border gate.

Despite not being a signatory to the 1951 Refugee Convention, India has extended shelter and assistance to those fleeing the Myanmar crisis on humanitarian grounds, employing a systematic approach.
