Manipur: Army, police defuse eight IEDs
Imphal: Eight improvised explosive devices (IEDs) weighing a combined 33 kilograms were successfully defused in Manipur on Saturday, preventing a potential catastrophe.
The explosives, believed to have been planted by "anti-social activists" to target a specific community or security personnel, were discovered in a joint operation by the Indian Army and the Manipur Police Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS).

Utilizing bomb-sniffing dogs, the security forces located the IEDs, which included fuses and cordex wires, in the Saichang Itham area of Imphal East district, bordering Kangpokpi district.

This area is frequented by farmers and cattle grazers from nearby Moirangpurel and Itham villages.
Acting on specific intelligence, the Army swiftly deployed a team that, alongside the BDDS experts, neutralized the explosives.
