Manipur: 80-year-old Kuki woman killed in Churachandpur

Imphal: An 80-year-old Kuki tribal woman was found murdered in her residence at Imanuel village in Manipur's Churachandpur district, according to a police report.

The victim, identified as Naonkhojam alias Taomboy, was found with head injuries and an iron wire around her neck on Saturday night when her family returned home around 9 pm.

Police believe she was alone during the attack.

A forensic team and officers from the Churachandpur police station reached the scene to investigate. The body was sent to the Churachandpur district hospital for autopsy.

Police have registered a case and are searching for the perpetrator(s).

The Zou Youth Organisation General Headquarters condemned the brutal killing of the elderly woman.
