Manipur: 30 IDPs among 200 candidates leave for cabin crew placement in Delhi
Imphal: Thirty Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) were among 200 candidates from across Manipur, on Monday, who left Imphal to take part in the first batch of training for the Residential Skill Development Programme for cabin crew placement in Delhi.
The programme undertaken under the mentorship of Justice Gita Mittal is sponsored by the Department of Tourism, Government of Manipur. It aims to equip the candidates with the essential skills and certifications required to meet the recruitment standards of leading airlines, ensuring better employment prospects.
The government will bear the entire cost of training and residential accommodation for the selected candidates.
Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur, Smt. Pooja Elangbam, on Monday, flagged off the first batch for cabin crew placement in Delhi, from Imphal International Airport.

The batch includes 30 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from the district. The District Administration Bishnupur has covered the travel expenses for the IDP candidates of the district. A total of 47 candidates, including the 30 IDPs, were selected from Bishnupur district for the first batch of the skill development training program.
Altogether, 200 candidates from across Manipur will be part of this first batch of training, officials stated.
Deputy Commissioner Pooja Elangbam extended her best wishes to all the candidates for their new journey and encouraged them to make the most of the opportunity by gaining the skills and knowledge needed to achieve their career goals.
Concerned officials of the District Administration also joined the DC in seeing off the candidates at the airport. The online interview for the selection of 500 cabin crew and ground staff trainees under the residential skill training programme will be conducted on March 3 and 4, 2025.
