Manipur: 11-year-old boy killed by lightning in Imphal
Imphal: An 11-year-old boy lost his life on Sunday after he was struck by lightning in Imphal West, Manipur.
He was hit near the Agriculture Quarters under the Lamphel police station in Imphal west district, where he was playing to his maternal aunty's quarter, the police said.
The lightning occurred when the boy was playing at an area of the Agriculture Quarters near the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Imphal at around 11 am on Sunday.

Telem Suraj, 11, was a resident of Kumbi village in Manipur.
He was struck by lightning on his head and left shoulder.
He was immediately rushed to the RIMS hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.

For the past 2 days, Manipur has been experiencing light to heavy rains in different districts in which two houses and several tracks of crops were destroyed in the trail of cyclonic storms and rains.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a warning of light to heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lighting for several districts, including Imphal West, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Imphal East, Churachandpur and Chandel.
