Manipur: 10-year-old girl killed, family members injured in Jiribam landslide

Imphal: A devastating landslide triggered by heavy rainfall claimed the life of a 10-year-old girl, Numona Begum, and injured four of her family members in Ahmedabad village, approximately 13 km from Jiribam District headquarters in Manipur.

According to reports, the landslide occurred at around midnight on Tuesday, burying Numona Begum alive in her house.

The injured family members include her parents and siblings.

They were identified as Hajibur Rahaman (35), Rani Begum (33), Mulsana Begum (18), Salim Uddin (16) and Sumita Begun (8).

The family was residing in a Kacha house, which was destroyed in the landslide.

The injured were rushed to Jiribam District Hospital for treatment.

Numona's body was handed over to the family after post-mortem at the same hospital.
