Guwahati issues prohibitory order ahead of Manipur PSC Main Examination 2022
Guwahati: To ensure a fair and transparent examination process, the Guwahati Police have imposed prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023 ahead of the Manipur Public Service Commission (MPSC) Combined Competitive (Main) Examination 2022, scheduled for November 7, 8, and 9.
The examination is being conducted simultaneously at the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) office in Guwahati and the Imphal Centre in Manipur, with 199 candidates slated to appear from Guwahati.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Administration) Imdad Ali, APS, issued the directive on Wednesday, restricting the movement of people within a 100-meter radius of the APSC examination centre. Only candidates carrying valid admit cards, authorised exam officials, on-duty police personnel, and government representatives will be allowed entry during examination hours.
The order will remain effective during exam timings—9 am to 12 noon and 1.30 pm to 4.30 pm on November 8 and 9. Officials said the move aims to prevent disturbances, cheating attempts, and misuse of mobile phones or social media platforms during the test.
Police cited past instances where outsiders attempted to interfere in recruitment exams, prompting the administration to take stricter measures to uphold transparency and integrity.
Anyone violating the order will face action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
The Guwahati Police Commissionerate confirmed that all necessary security and administrative arrangements have been put in place to conduct the examination smoothly, in line with the state government’s directive.
