Cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives recovered in Manipur

Kakching: A huge cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives has been recovered in a joint operation conducted by central and state forces over the past 24 hours, the Manipur police confirmed on Thursday.

Acting on an intelligence tip, a combined team comprising Kakching district commandos, 5/9 Gorkha Rifles, 33 Assam Rifles, and the 126 Battalion of the BSF initiated the operation.

The intensive search took place at an abandoned camp of miscreants located in Sekmaijin Mamang Leikai, under the jurisdiction of the Hiyanglam police station in Manipur's Kakching district.

The operation, conducted between 7 am and 10 am on Wednesday, led to the discovery of numerous warlike weapons. However, no arrests have been made, according to police reports.
