Manipur: UKNA leader shot dead by bodyguard in Churachandpur

IMPHAL: A suspected leader of the banned outfit United Kuki National Army (UKNA) was shot dead by his own bodyguard in Churachandpur, Manipur.

As per reports he was part of the outfit that claimed responsibility for the attack on oil tankers along National Highway 37.

The deceased was identified as Thangminlal Haokip alias Hunter alias Tamin.

He was around 39 years of age and was designated as the self-styled camp commander of the banned outfit UKNA.

He was allegedly shot dead by his bodyguard at Geljang village (Old Nabil), near Leimatak in Churachandpur district on Sunday.

However, the outfit is yet to comment on the incident.
