Based on intelligence from reliable sources, a joint team from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Assam Rifles, and state security forces launched an operation in Hengjol village, under the jurisdiction of New Keithelmanbi police station in Kangpokpi district of Manipur early Tuesday morning around 4:30 AM.

The raid resulted in the arrest of three suspected militants.

The forces seized three AK-series rifles, bulletproof jackets, live ammunition, mobile phones, and various incriminating documents from the suspects.

Following the arrests, security personnel faced resistance from a group of women protesting against the operation.

The situation escalated, leading the forces to use tear gas to disperse the crowd.

Reports indicate that three women sustained minor injuries during the confrontation.

In a related incident, two additional suspected Kuki militants were detained by security forces after an exchange of gunfire near the villages of Phaitol in Tamenglong district and Leingangpokpi in Jiribam district of Manipur.

The detainees, along with the seized weapons, were handed over to the local police station on Tuesday.
