Manipur: Two Tangkhul Naga leaders die in accident
Imphal: Two prominent leaders of the Tangkhul Youth Council (Tangkhul Mayar Ngala Long) died in a road accident in Manipur on Thursday, reports said.
The accident occurred along the Ukhrul-Kamjong State Road, about 80 kilometres from Imphal.
The Council President Themmaso Tallanao and General Secretary Masothing, Assistants on their official duties sustained serious injuries when the vehicle they were travelling in crashed near a junction at Ukhrul-Kamjong at around 7 am on Thursday, the report said.

The two leaders succumbed to their injuries on the way to the nearby hospital but the driver of the vehicle escaped with leg injuries in the accident.
He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

The report added that the rash and negligence of the driver might be the cause of the incident.
Several organizations including Tangkhul Naga outfits expressed grief and offered condolence to the families of the victims, the report added.
