Imphal: Security adviser to the Manipur Government Kuldiep Singh expressed concern over the alarming usage of sophisticated weapons by the militants and anti-socials operating in this crisis-hit border state.

Talking to the newsmen at Imphal, Kuldiep Singh, who was also former CRPF Director General, said that over 800 sophisticated weapons such as M16s, M18s, and M4A1 Carbines used by the assailants were among 2,686 weapons recovered in the massive combing operations.

The militants and miscreants are targeting the innocents and even the security forces at their opportune time.

The counter-operations against the miscreants started in the aftermath of ethnic violence between two particular communities on May 3, 2023.
