Guwahati: Voter turnout of 81.16% marked the conclusion of re-polling at six Polling Stations across three assembly segments in Manipur's Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency, reserved for scheduled tribes, on Tuesday, 2024, officials reported.

Commencing at 7 AM and concluding at 4 PM, the re-polling unfolded smoothly under stringent security measures, with no untoward incidents reported.

The six polling stations, located in Ukhrul and Senapati districts, witnessed a significant voter participation, following instances of booth rigging and violence during the initial polling on April 26.

The Outer Manipur Lok Sabha seat encompasses 28 assembly constituencies, of which 15 went to the polls on April 19, followed by the second phase on April 26. The re-polling was necessitated to address concerns arising from the earlier disturbances.

Outer Manipur parliamentary constituency, representing a diverse electorate of 10, 36,736, comprises 5, 06,147 male, 5, 30,556 female, and 33 transgender voters.

During the initial polling on April 26, 76.06% of the total 4.84 lakh eligible voters exercised their franchise across 13 out of the 28 assembly segments.
