IMPHAL: The Manipur police have announced the suspension of personnel transfers “wherever applicable” in light of the ongoing crisis in the state.

While the transfer orders remain valid, personnel will only be relocated as necessary.

Explaining the rationale behind the transfer orders issued on February 14, which affected 177 personnel from various communities of MR/IR units, Manipur police clarified that the objective was to optimize manpower allocation and facilitate salary processing against sanctioned posts in all MR/IR units.

However, considering the prevailing crisis, Manipur police emphasized that there is no immediate need for personnel movement at this juncture.

This decision aims to maintain stability and ensure continuity in addressing the ongoing situation.

“Reference to Manipur Police Headquarter order dated 14.02.2024 regarding transfer and posting of 177(One hundred and seventy-seven) personnel of all communities of MR/IR units to various units, it is informed that the transfer and posting has been done in order to streamline the excess manpower against the sanctioned post available in all MR/IR units and to facilitate the process for preparation of their salaries. However, in view of the present crisis, there is no immediate movement of the personnel required at this stage,” the Manipur police stated in a brief statement.
