Manipur Police arrest two vehicle lifters at RIMS hospital campus

Imphal: Manipur police arrested two vehicle lifters red-handed at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) hospital campus of the Imphal West district, the morning police report said on Tuesday.

Based on intelligence inputs from different sources, a team of the Imphal West District police laid out a trap inside the RIMS campus at around 11 am on Monday.

The preplan operation yielded positive results with the arrest of alleged lifters later identified as Ajijur Rahaman (43) of Chongtham Nungei, Thoubal district, and Md. Quyamuddin (31) of Lilong Ataokhong Mamang Leikai of the same district.

They were arrested trying to steal a two-wheeler vehicle from RIMS Campus.

One auto-rickshaw (in which the two vehicle lifters came), two mobile phones, and one master key were recovered from their possession.

A case has been registered and investigated, the police said.
