Imphal: Manipur police and Assam Rifles in a joint operation, raided a hideout of armed miscreants in the Thoubal district.

The operation, conducted early Saturday morning in the Irong Hill range near Nongpok Sekmai, resulted in the seizure of a significant cache of weapons and explosives.

According to police, the combined forces received intelligence about the miscreants' presence and swiftly moved in.

Upon approaching the hideout, the armed individuals fled the scene, leaving behind a trove of weaponry.

The recovered items include one 9mm pistol, four high explosive grenades of Chinese origin, twelve live rounds of ammunition, one detonator, four empty magazines, one smoke grenade, a 38mm anti-riot cartridge with a rubber bullet, a stinger cartridge, fix-fired cases

The seized items have been handed over to the Nongpok Sekmai police station for further investigation and legal proceedings.
