Guwahati: A group of MLAs from Manipur representing the Kuki-Zo-Hmar, Meitei and Naga communities on Tuesday held a meeting in New Delhi to discuss the current scenario back in the state.

A group of elected members of Manipur Assembly, representing Kuki-Zo-Hmar, Meitei and Naga communities, met in New Delhi today to discuss the current scenario in the state, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) said in a press statement.

The joint meeting was reportedly held under the supervision of the MHA.

It is the first time that MLAs of the three communities met since the ethnic violence broke out in the state on May 3, 2023.

The meeting is reportedly a part of the Central government’s efforts to facilitate talks between the warring communities in order to devise a solution to the crisis in Manipur.
