Manipur: Housewife found dead in Imphal, husband arrested

Imphal: A woman was found dead hanging in Imphal, Manipur under mysterious circumstances. 

The deceased identified as Yaikhom (Ongbi) Kangabam Chandrirna Leima, was 28 years old.

Police have arrested the husband, Yaikhom Nongdamba Meitei, suspecting foul play.

According to reports, Chandrirna was found hanging in the kitchen of their home in Chanung Awang Leikai, Imphal East district, around 4 pm.

A police team and forensic experts visited the scene after the deceased's parents filed a complaint.

Chandrirna's body is currently at the JNIMS hospital mortuary awaiting post-mortem examination.

While the cause of death remains under investigation, the arrest of the husband suggests police suspect foul play.
