Imphal: In a significant administrative overhaul, N Biren Singh-led government in Manipur on Friday announced a major reshuffling of MCS/SDC officers impacting 46 bureaucrats.

This move is seen as a strategic approach to strengthen governance and administrative efficiency across various districts against the backdrop of the prevailing law and order situation.

Two high-ranking officers were served an ultimatum by a powerful social outfit to leave the Churachandpur district within 24 hours in connection with the firing incident on Thursday night.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) S. Dharun Kumar and the Superintendent of Police (SP) of Churachandpur districts Shivanand Surve have reportedly left the district following renewed violence that erupted on Thursday night killing two persons and setting on fire two vehicles and causing damage to the mini DC office in Churachandpur district headquarters.

Ph Bhavananda Sharma, Joint Secretary (DP), Government of Manipur in an order issued on Friday states that the transfer and posting of 46 MC/SDC officers have been effected until further orders in public interest.

T Kammuanlal Simte, MCS present posting as Deputy Commissioner of Taxes in Churachandpur district will attached to the DC/Churachandpur.
