Manipur govt awards best police station, officers for 2024
Imphal: The Manipur Government has recognized the outstanding performance of several police stations and officers across the state.
The Lamphel Police Station in Imphal West District was awarded the Best Police Station for the year 2024.
The Jiribam Police Station and Churachandpur Women Police Station shared the honor of the Second Best Police Station, while the Patsoi Police Station and Bishnupur Police Station were jointly awarded as the Third Best Police Station.
The selections were based on a rigorous evaluation of various criteria, including crime clearance rates, investigative efficiency, community outreach, infrastructure maintenance, and adherence to human rights standards.
Manipur Director General of Police (DGP) Rajiv Singh, announced the awards in an official statement, stating that the selections were made by a screening committee formed on September 14, 2024, to inspect police stations recommended by District Superintendents of Police.
Sub-Inspectors L Sarjubala of Bishnupur Women Police Station and Vashum Meena of Ukhrul Women Police Station were also honored with the Best Police Officer Award for their exceptional service.
The awards, which include trophies, commendation certificates, and cash prizes, will be formally presented to the winners on Manipur Police Raising Day on October 19, 2024.
