Imphal: The Governor of Manipur, Anusuiya Uikey has said that all stakeholders should cooperate to resolve the crisis in the state.

She was speaking at the closing ceremony of 15 days Summer Children Theatre Workshop, 2024, held on Sunday at Manipur Trade and Expo Centre Relief Camp, Lamboikhognangkhong in Imphal West district.

The workshop was organized by the National School of Drama, New Delhi, and the National School of Drama (TIE Wing), Tripura, in collaboration with Khenjonglang and the Department of Social Welfare, Govt. of Manipur, especially for children in relief camps of the Expo Centre and Temporary Shelter Home, Sajiwa Jail Complex in Imphal East.

The Governor interacted with 120 displaced children along with their guardians and distributed certificates for their participation in dancing and painting events during the workshop.

The governor said every section of society has been affected by the situation in the state.

She said, most importantly women and children have been affected and there is the need to support them with utmost care.

The Governor added that their state of mind has to be relaxed and therefore such theatre workshops will help in this direction.

Appreciating the role of Khenjonglang, the Governor said, such initiatives will help to remove stress from the young minds and to foster a good mental backup for the children.

She asked the theatre group to continue their efforts and assured to extend possible assistance from the Raj Bhavan.

As children are the future pillars of the nation, facilities like good education, good healthcare, etc. have to be delivered to the children.

All children are talented and they should be guided and nurtured in their best area of interest, the Governor added.

Expressing her serious concern over the situation in the state, the Governor said, as a guardian of the state, steps to resolve the crisis have been taken up by insisting the Central leaders from time to time and hopefully some tangible result will be seen soon.

The Governor appealed to all stakeholders to cooperate with the steps taken to resolve the crisis and to restore peace and tranquillity in the best interest of the people of Manipur.

Professor P. Gunindro, Vice Chancellor, Manipur University of Culture, Dr. Thaninleima, Director, Khenjonglang, officers of the Social Welfare Department, IDPs attended the closing ceremony.
