Manipur: Four arrested in vehicle theft and abduction cases

Imphal: Manipur Police apprehended four individuals allegedly involved in separate vehicle theft and abduction cases, according to a police report released on Monday.

Following the reported theft of a Toyota Fortuner on February 29, 2024, in Imphal West, police recovered the vehicle on Saturday and arrested three individuals believed to be involved.

They were identified as Yumnam Angousana Singh (26), Maibam Sanajaoba Singh (26), and Irom James Singh (22), all residents of Imphal East.

In a separate incident, 55-year-old Kish Sarunao from Nongdam Tangkhul was abducted along with his vehicle from Imphal East.

Police immediately launched a search operation and successfully rescued both Sarunao and his vehicle in the Napetpalli area.

Lukhram Bikram Singh, also known as Kuthan, a 40-year-old resident of Khurai Ningthoubung Leikai, was arrested in connection with the abduction and remanded to police custody.

Investigations into both cases are ongoing.
