As per reports, the man who was a driver, A Singsou, 24, from Kabung Karong village in Senapati district, was swept away by strong currents after his van was caught in a sudden mudslide and plunged into the Senapati River.

In another incident, a 17-year-old boy, Hailungba Martin, went missing after slipping and falling into the Senapati River on Monday evening.

Monsoon rains had caused the river to swell with strong currents. The incident occurred near a canal close to the Old Monday Market Bailey Bridge connecting Maralong and Katomei.
