Manipur: Bomb blast rocks residence of company manager in Imphal
Imphal: A low-intensity bomb exploded within the residential compound of the manger of a company in Manipur's Imphal.
The company, Salai Holdings Private Limited, a non-government entity, has recently faced difficulties repaying investors.
Police reports indicate the blast occurred at the residence of Elangbam Brojendro, 49, Manager of the company, around 10:30 pm on Thursday.
Unknown assailants on a motorbike hurled the bomb into Brojendro's residence located in Keishamthong Elangbam Leikai, Imphal West district.
The explosion caused partial damage to the tin roof. No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack. Police arrived promptly at the scene and are investigating the motive, perpetrators, and their intentions.
Local women's leader Rajkumari Indira Devi condemned the bombing, particularly in a populated area. She urged those involved to resolve any issues peacefully through dialogue.
Police have linked the company's financial struggles to the blast. Salai Holdings reportedly faced frozen bank accounts and seized assets by the state government, hindering its ability to operate and repay investors.
