IMPHAL: The Manipur Assembly, in a unanimous move, has adopted a resolution urging the central government to enforce the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in the state, aiming to prevent alleged illegal immigration from Myanmar.

The resolution urging the union home ministry to implement the NRC in Manipur was moved by chief minister N Biren Singh.

CM N Biren Singh emphasized on the importance of safeguarding Manipur's interests and "contributing to the nation's welfare".

This reaffirms the government's commitment to security and integrity, urging citizens to support this endeavor for a stronger, prosperous Manipur, Singh said.

I urge all citizens to support this endeavor as we strive to build a stronger, more prosperous Manipur for generations to come,” CM Biren Singh said.
