Manipur Assembly Budget session adjourned sine die

Imphal, Manipur: The Manipur Legislative Assembly's Budget Session, which began on February 28th, 2024, concluded on Tuesday, March 5th, 2024, after being adjourned sine die (indefinitely) by Speaker Th Saityabrata.

The session lasted for seven days, with five sittings. Notably, ten legislators from the Kuki Zo communities abstained from the proceedings.

Despite one incident where five opposition Congress MLAs staged a walkout, the session was largely peaceful, a stark contrast to the "major fireworks" witnessed in previous years.

Speaker Saityabrata, before adjourning the house, provided a summary of the session's activities.

He mentioned that it commenced with the Governor's address and tributes to deceased individuals, followed by discussions, presentations, and various legislative procedures.
