Manipur: 25-year-old youth dies after bike collides with stray cow

Imphal: A 25-year-old tribal youth succumbed to his injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident involving a stray cow in the southern part of Manipur.

According to police sources, one Paotinmang, 25, a resident of S Molcham village in Manipur's Churachandpur district bordering Bokan Bazaar of Myanmar was returning home late Friday when a cow ran into his motorcycle on the Molcham road.

He was thrown off his bike in the dark in the middle of the road and was in a state of unconsciousness at around 11 pm on Friday.

Paotinmang son of one Nengkholun was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries despite being given initial treatment.

Police said that a case has been registered in this issue and efforts are on to arrest the owner of the cow involved in the accident.

Stray cattle are in galore in the middle of the road in the far-flung areas of the state.
