Man kills wife, child in Arunachal; mental health issues suspected

Longding: In a tragic incident, a 35-year-old man murdered his wife and five-month-old child in Arunachal Pradesh's Longding district on Saturday.

The accused, Gangngam Gangsa, was arrested after sharing disturbing images of the victims' bodies in a local WhatsApp group.

According to police, the incident came to light when Manngo Pansa of Khanu village received a call from Nanpho Gangsa, informing him about the horrific images.

A police team, led by Inspector T. Konia and Executive Magistrate Bini Shiva, immediately rushed to the spot in Lower School Colony area.

Upon arrival, police found Ngamjun Gangsa, 32, and her infant son dead in their kitchen. Preliminary investigations suggest that they were brutally murdered.

While the exact motive remains unclear, authorities are exploring the possibility of mental health issues playing a role.

According to police, accused Gangngam Gangsa confessed to the crime. The police recovered the weapons used, a dao and a spade, at the scene. The suspect is currently in custody.

A case has been registered under LDG PS Case No. 40/24 U/S 103(1) BNS. The investigation is underway.
