The incumbent MP, Dilip Saikia, faces a tough challenge within his party. Seasoned BJP leader and former MP, Ramen Deka, is also eyeing the ticket, potentially leading to an internal tussle. Both are well-established figures, making the BJP's choice a crucial one.

BPF Weighs Independent Run:

The Bodoland People's Front (BPF), led by Hagrama Mohilary, is contemplating fielding a candidate independently. Sources suggest senior leader and Kalaigaon MLA, Durga Das Boro, could be their frontrunner.

Congress Seeks Ally Support:

Being part of the 15-party United Opposition Forum Assam (UOFA), the Congress is likely to field its candidate. Former MP and lawyer, Madhab Chandra Rajbongshi, is reportedly being considered.

Shifting Alliances:

It's noteworthy that both AIUDF and BPF were part of the Congress-led Mahajot alliance in the 2021 Assembly polls. However, BPF left after their electoral loss, while the Congress snapped ties with AIUDF for allegedly aiding the BJP's victory.
