LML plans revival with Star electric scooter, secures design patent

Guwahati: Lohia Machines Limited (LML), a renowned Indian brand from the 1990s and early 2000s, has made a significant comeback in the electric vehicle (EV) market.

The company has obtained a design patent for its Star electric scooter, marking a new chapter in its legacy.

The LML Star, originally produced from 1997 to 2017, has been revived in collaboration with Saera Electric Auto Private Limited (SEAPL).

The e-scooter's design is the result of a partnership with experienced Italian designers who have worked with prominent brands like Ducati, Ferrari, Yamaha, and Kawasaki.

Key Features would include a maxi scooter design with a flat floorboard and red accents.

It is expected to come in a dual-tone front apron with DRL and a photosensitive headlamp.

A mid-mounted motor with belt drive system is expected to be the game changer for the brand.

ML Star is poised to compete with established EV players like Ather and Ola.

While performance details remain under wraps, the scooter's sleek design and advanced features signal a promising entry into the evolving EV market.
