Guwahati: The Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM), a prominent Kuki organization, has vehemently opposed the recent demand by Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh for control over the Unified Command.

The KIM asserted that this move was a blatant attempt to intensify the ongoing ethnic cleansing of the Kuki-Zo people.

In a statement issued today, the KIM accused CM Biren Singh of direct involvement in the genocide of the Kuki-Zo community. They cited his notorious leaked audio clip as evidence of his bias and complicity in the violence.

The KIM argued that the demand for Unified Command is not about restoring law and order but rather consolidating the CM's power over security forces, which have been used to aid Meitei extremists in the attacks on Kuki-Zo people.

The KIM highlighted the devastating impact of the violence on the Kuki-Zo community, citing shocking statistics: 191 deaths, over 200 villages burnt, and thousands displaced. They accused the state government of emboldening the attackers by failing to protect vulnerable Kuki-Zo people.

The KIM demanded that the Government of India initiate an immediate investigation into CM Biren Singh's role in the Kuki-Zo genocide and his removal from office.

They also rejected his demand for Unified Command and called for a Separate Administration for the Kuki-Zo people to ensure their safety and well-being.

The KIM further said that the blood of their people would not be spilled in vain and that they would not rest until justice was served.
