Guwahati: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that Northeast is likely to see the heaviest rainfall over the week.

Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim can expect widespread light to moderate rain with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds.

Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is also forecast, with the heaviest amounts expected in Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal.

According to IMD, scattered thunderstorms are likely around Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. A heavy rain is expected in western Assam, southeastern Meghalaya, and the northeastern part of West Bengal on Monday.

Similarly on Tuesday, very heavy rain is expected in western Assam, southeastern Meghalaya, and the northeastern part of West Bengal.

Conditions are favorable for the Southwest Monsoon to advance further into several parts of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, and Bihar over the next four days. This will bring scattered to widespread rainfall to these regions.
