Heavy rainfall to lash Assam, ten districts on yellow alert

GUWAHATI: The Northeast state of Assam is bracing itself for heavy rainfall in the coming days.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued special bulletin warning heavy rainfall and thunderstorm in Assam.

Assam is likely to be lashed by heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms over the next three to four days.

Anticipated weather conditions include widespread rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and isolated heavy rainfall across Assam.

Notably, a yellow alert has been issued for 10 districts in Assam.

The districts in Assam where the yellow alert has been issued are: Morigaon, Nagaon, West Karbi Anglong, Hojai, Dhemaji, Charaideo, Tinsukia, Dima Hasao, Dibrugarh and Karbi Anglong.
