Heatwave continues in Tripura, schools to remain closed for 3 more days

Agartala: In response to the ongoing heatwave gripping Tripura, the state government has opted to extend the closure of both public and private schools by an additional three days.

As per a memorandum issued by the state's education department, citing the relentless scorching heatwave persisting throughout the region, the closure will now span from April 29th to May 1st, 2024.

All Government and Government-Aided Schools under the Education (School) Department, Govt. of Tripura, along with schools under TTAADC and Privately Managed Schools, will adhere to this directive. District Education Officers have been tasked with disseminating this decision to all schools under their jurisdiction.

Simultaneously, the India Meteorological Department in Agartala has issued alerts for hot and humid conditions across the state for the next three days.

Sunday saw temperatures soaring to 37.6 degrees Celsius, indicative of the prevailing hot and humid weather conditions, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds.
