Guwahati: A massive fire has been reported from the Srinagar area in Guwahati, Assam on Wednesday afternoon.

The fire is suspected to have been caused by an LPG cylinder explosion followed by a short circuit in the electrical system.

The fire took place at around 1 pm on Wednesday at a residential building in By-lane no 6 of Srinagar, Guwahati.

Several fire tenders were rushed to the spot to control the fire.

Locals stated that the fire started due to extreme sunlight reflected from a piece of glass.

Along with this, six cylinders also exploded.

However, an investigation is being carried out in connection with the incident.

No casualties or injuries to anyone were reported during the incident.

The fire was controlled after two hours of combined efforts by locals as well as personnel from the fire & emergency services.
